Skip Yourself Fit

Skipping is not just for kids. It’s high-intensity cardio exercise that uses every muscle in your body. It’s a great way to improve general fitness, endurance and stamina, says personal trainer Alexandra Wilson.

However, to get results you must work your heart from 70 to 80 per cent of its full capacity. Try the mini-circuit below.

“Ensure you warm up for five minutes,” says Wilson. “And keep the circuit going for at least 20. It’s an excellent workout, especially if you’re short of time.”

  • ·      Skip for one minute
  • ·      Star jumps for 30 seconds.
  • ·      Six 30-metre sprints.
  • ·      Ten sit-ups.
  • ·      Repeat five times.
